Features

The Procyon Premier (available only in Neo chassis) has been described as the "all-in-one Linux Office Server" and can be configured to provide a comprehensive suite of business applications for the 'price conscious' or perhaps a very useful Linux Web and Security server for larger the "Small Medium Enterprise" market. The box is delivered with a base load of Red Hat Fedora Linux, complete with "best-of-breed" software such as Squid and Apache in the one device.

This micro sized appliance features Intel CPU (800MHz and 2GHz Celeron), Intel 852GM advanced chipset, DDR memory (up to 1GB), Ultra ATA disk drive and four Ethernet ports for use as a full service security and/or hosting server.

Once installed, Procyon Security Servers actively defend networks from all manner of net threats, and are constantly updated with the latest enhancements from our team of security specialists.

Applications

The Procyon Premier is designed as to accept a number of roles such as security or web services, or a combination of the two, along with Office application services for those interested in delivery of Linux based solutions. The device can be utilised as File and Print, Email, Web serving and Security services such as Firewall, VPN, Ant-spam, Anti-virus and Web content filtering. Web caching is also included.

As an entry level Office applications server, the device can run a full suite of office desktop applications utilising Linux based products such as Star Office and linux based email solutions. This can leads to significant cost savings for smaller organisations keeping an eye on ever increasing licensing costs.

Web serving capabilities also allow a client to host their own web content (and provide ease of publishing (with suitable communications infrastructure).

As a security server, the Procyon Premier is suitable for medium sized offices ( and larger branch organisations with 50 to 200 users, utilising all standard Internet connections (ADSL, ISDN, Frame Relay etc).

Protocols

The Procyon Premier provides proxy and cache services for HTTP, FTP, Gopher and WAIS protocols, and proxy services for HTTPS. It supports both ICP and Cache Digests protocols for integrating multiple web caching proxies, as well as WCCPv1, CARP, and HTCP. Support for all common network management utilities is provided via SNMP protocol support.

Web-Based GUI

Our comprehensive web-based interface makes all common tasks simple and quick. All of our tools are integrated into a common and consistent interface. It allows delegation of duties to multiple administrators, safely, via an advanced access control system.

Authentication

All common authentication protocols are supported, including NTLM, and Basic and Digest HTTP standard authentication. Directory servers are also supported, including Active Directory and LDAP.

Access Controls

Extremely flexible access control list features are available to allow for fine-grained control based on user name, client address, destination, time of day, and much more. Prepared white lists and black lists can be installed to provide content filtering, and new lists can be generated manually or automatically using provided tools.

Reporting

The Procyon Premier includes extensive reporting facilities at no extra cost, providing a complete picture of user behaviour and security threats and status. Both real-time and long-term reporting functionality is available. Our integrated support module makes it easy to submit new issues to Syncretize support staff and get quick solutions.

Not only that, we'll also pay for shipping both ways, so repairs can be made quickly and it won't cost you a cent. Unlimited Support for Two Years

With the web-based GUI interface and reliable software in a Procyon FW, we doubt you'll need a lot of help to get things running. But we don't want you to feel you have nowhere to go for help. For one year, you can email us and we will give you a prompt and useful reply.
